MISSIONARY FAMILY ACCEPTS NEW CHALLENGE

Victor & Ara Guillen, and daughter Ester, have accepted a new ministry (& challenges) in the Mexican State of Oaxaca.  They are working with another Missionary couple, Alex & Debbie Izquierdo.  Their primary purpose is to plant new churches among the unreached people of the region.  The population is primarily Mixtecs and Triquis people groups.  Until they have converted to Christianity, there is much persecution that takes place.  Please pray that the Lord will safeguard the Guillen and Izquierdo families from physical harm. 

In gaining acceptance by the people, they will teach both English &/or Spanish.  Also, music, Arts, and Nutrition & Health will be taught.  Victor & Ara are very gifted and talented missionaries.  They desperately need additional financial support.  If their ministry touches your heart and you would desire to support them on a monthly basis, let us know & we will see that it gets to them.  Contact us at dlhedges@juno.com.

(Spanish translation)  Hola, somos la familia Guillén, actualmente nos encontramos sirviendo al Señor en Oaxaca, México. Nuestro propósito es ayudar en la plantación de iglesias  entre los pueblos no alcanzados de la región, que son Mixtecos y Triquis. La meta es ir ganando a nuestros estudiantes para Cristo, para a la larga plantar iglesias en las comunidades. Apoyaremos la labor de el proyecto Etnox (etnias de Oaxaca) por un tiempo inicial de dos años. Nuestra condición social es la de profesores prestando servicios en las comunidades rurales, enseñamos a leer y escribir, enseñamos Música, Artes plásticas, Nutrición e Inglés básico además de otras materias que imparten nuestros compañeros de trabajo.                                                            

MISSIONARY COUPLE IS EFFECTIVE

Victor & Ara Guillen are presently serving as pastors at the Protestant Church in Dr Arroyo, a small town about 33 miles East of Matehuala. The Church’s regular Pastor is Richard Johnson, who along with his wife, is in the United States on furlough. The Guillen’s have been serving this church for the past 5 months, and will continue to serve until the Johnson’s return in February. The Guillen’s are doing an excellent job.

We had the pleasure of attending one of their church Services in October. Attendance was over 40 and seems to be growing. Victor is excellent with both the teaching and music. Ara is an outstanding women and children leader. They had invited Ricardo Renteria, a missionary working in Morocco, Africa. Recardo graduated from the Betania Bible School in Matehuala some 7 or 8 years ago. They have been in Morocco for three years. They are working in a very difficult culture and constantly are confronted with many obstacles.  They really need prayer for protection and Divine Wisdom in carrying out this Ministry the Lord has placed in their heart.

Missionary couple makes move

Victor & Ara Guillen, are presently in Bethi, Mexico. Bethi is a small Otomi Indian village located 125 miles NW of Mexico City. The Protestant Church is growing and they are constantly in need of more space. Victor & Ara have been an important part of this growth. Victor & Ara attended a year of bible study in Minneapolis, MN at Bethany Bible School following their graduation from The Betania Bible School in Matehuala, Mexico.

They are currently in the process of moving from Bethi to the small town, Dr Arroyo. They will be here for some 6 months, filling in for the pastor who will be on a 6 month furlough. Sometime in the future, they
desire is to go to Northern India as missionaries. They have one daughter, Ester. They do an outstanding job wherever they are located.
